Sometimes transcripts of external references are included.
Obviously, our aim is not to usurp the work of others, but ON THE CONTRARY to promote their commitment, results, and positive impact for everyone.
One of our common goals is an economy, a society and a world in which the need to profit from everything we do, and in particular from our contributions to the community, is not so pressing.
And copyright law is a weapon; as such, its effect depends on whose hands it ends up in: if it ends up in the hands of decent people, they will use it according to their level of knowledge and understanding; if it ends up in the hands of criminals, they will use it to attack and harm decent people.
That said, transcripts of external reference content are provided for these reasons:
- Promote their awareness and impact
If a transcript is present, it is because we believe that knowing it and the impact of knowing it, in short, its contribution to the overall picture, are crucial.
And we believe that, to paraphrase what someone once said, “knowledge belongs to those who are able to use it to help everyone”.
- Safeguarding them from censorship
Perhaps some have not yet realised it, but Evil is at war with Good, and one of the first fronts in this war is the control, manipulation and censorship of information and of the channels through which it travels.
Therefore, if a transcript is present, it is also a basic precaution to help protect it from censorship.
