Passing off the cause of the problem as its solution, the cause of the illness as its cure, is a perfect trap, because it triggers a downward spiral: more "cure", more illness; more illness, more "cure". And as the saying goes, when we hit rock bottom, we start digging.
A perfect trap, a spiral with no other way out than opening one's eyes.
