Learn to Say Hello

Learn to say hello.

The first step to rebuild the individual, the education, the community, and the civilisation is learning to say hello.

The point is training to do it with anyone, tipically with the strangers you meet.

There is nothing strange nor wrong with saying hello to unknown people you've never seen before, and it should be normal, not strange.
What is not normal is being plunged into a condition where one ignores or glares at strangers.

Saying hello is an acknowledgement; basically one is saying to the person: "I noticed you, you are there; you exist to me."

Ignoring is a nonrecognition; basically one is saying to the person: "I don't want to notice you; you do not exist to me."

How do you feel, in either case?
Try to imagine spending an entire day during which any other person ignores your existence: not only strangers, but also all the people who know you and who you're dealing with; imagine that all of them ignore you completely, how would you feel?
Now try to imagine to spend an entire day during which any other person acknowledges your existence: also the strangers, other than the people who know you and who you're dealing with, imagine they turn to you with a smile and they say hello to you at the very least, how would you feel?

Understand?

You may think it's unimportant, like a bolt. To the contrary, it's fundamental: a bridge is made of a million bolts; no bolts, no bridge.
