Why is "artificial intelligence" an oxymoron?
Because intelligence, from Latin "intelligentia", derived from "intelligere" which means "to understand, to intend", is the faculty intrinsic to BEINGS, NOT to THINGS.
"To intend" includes various abilities; for instance: it is the ability to comprehend, that is, of bringing inside self; it is the ability to intend, that is, of the will; it is the ability to have power of choice, to have points of view, to have thoughts, feelings, emotions, etc.
Even the law acknowledges it as an attribute of beings, and not of things; it calls it "capacity to understand and to will".
Even grammar acknowledges it, referring to animated and non-animated things differently.
And, perhaps above all, it is the faculty to be CAUSE. There are causes, and there are effects. What distinguishes a being from a thing is the fact of being cause, and not merely effect. A being can decide to go here or there, to do this or that, and maybe to kick a stone; a stone can't.
A being is cause, a stone is effect.
And this ability is the main target of the enemies of Humanity: their purpose is annihilating beings, therefore their fundamental target is to make them less cause and more effect. And possible totally effect.
In the final analysis, where there is intelligence there is SOMEONE over there; where there is NOBODY, there is no intelligence whatsoever.
Which is another way to say, let's not fool ourselves. And above all, let ourselves not be fooled.
Why is "artificial intelligence" the ultimate oxymoron?
Because it takes its intrinsic contradiction to the extreme limit, to the extreme border: the most fundamental foundation, even beyond the human condition: our condition as beings.
Because accepting this oxymoron, consciously, or even worse superficially, instead of exposing it as such and as it deserves, means accepting to be placed on an equal footing with the machines, and this means being willing to forget, to deny, to disown our fundamental nature, hence to give it up.
And once that limit has been passed, it's over: every violation becomes acceptable, and thus easier, and thus possible.
Our whole history is an encyclopaedia of precedents precisely of this kind, in which a minority of enemies of Humanity have convinced us that we are things, not beings, and then treated us, and annihilated us, as things.
"The greatest role, the most sacred, yes, and more DIVINE is that of the programmer, the CUSTODIAN of soul, humanity, good sense and... of life... And then... then the machine, no matter how beutiful, super-intelligent, super-fast, super-gentle... will never be able to replace the human being simply because it does not have and will never have the SOUL, a DIVINE part, a drop of God within its heart - scheme..."

In conclusion?
The term "artificial intelligence" is an oxymoron because what it describres does not exist.
Passing off as existing something that does not exist is an act of deliberate sabotage.
Inventing and propagandising to this aim a term is an act of social engineering.
Artificial intelligence does not exist.
Therefore let's banish this term.
Let's name things for what they are; what we're talking about is called:
