The topic discussed here is closely related to several others, which are summarised here:
The condition of loose cannon is defined as one who is subject to a suppression and who can't do anything about it to fight back, and chief amongst the reasons why one can't do anything about it is that one is not aware of being suppressed.
Our first duty and skill includes the awareness that it's never the instrument; it's always the intention.
It's never the hammer; it's always the hand that holds it.
It is precisely for this reason that we must not play into the hands of Evil, by failing to distinguish the hand from the hammer, demonising the hammer and thus leaving it in the hands of Evil.
And while irrationality and illogicality includes lumping everything together - and more precisely the identification factor -, rationality and logic include the ability to see differences and similarities.
All these elements combine in a key, strategic factor.
In a world held hostage by monetary manipulators and by our own inclination to be loose cannons, the enemies of Humanity can build a monopolistic pyramid from which they dominate the battlefield from a position of strength.
In practical terms, this means that the hand capable of seizing and wielding any hammer is usually that of the enemies of Humanity.
And we tend to feel repulsion in proportion to the amount of evil energy we perceive.
The result is our inclination to leave the field to Evil.
We identify progress with the Evil that has infiltrated, usurped and perverted it, and so we reject this entity - which to us is, in fact, a single, indistinct entity - and withdraw from it.
We make excuses for ourselves, the enemies of Humanity strengthen their power.
Whilst on the one hand we nobly step back to figthing with our bare hands, on the other we allow the enemies of Humanity to have a monopoly on firearms.
Is all this ethical?
If we leave the hammer in the hands of Evil, we forfeit any chance of using it for Good.
Ethics is not about justifying the defeat of Good. Ethics is the victory of the Good over Evil.
Are the odds so stacked against us that there’s no hope in sight?
Who cares.
There’s no reason to give up without a fight.
Never leave the field to Evil.
